Trout explained all the different types of trout in the world. There wasn’t really a main theme in the book, but it had information about every trout in the world. It listed how each fish got its name, where it came from, its eating habits, spawning habits, and other interesting facts about trout. This book was very informational, and educated me on all the facts about the fish that are native to our land.
The books strong point was that it knew where every single fish got its name and knew where it came from. I also really liked the illustrations, they were very detailed. I was amazed to see how each trout looked a little bit different.  It didn’t really tell me about the size of the fish, which was a disappointment.
I would recommend this book to a person who is interested in fish, or else or it might be a little boring. I would also not recommend it to a younger person because they might not understand everything.
“Fishing is a way of life, and an escape.” This I believe to be the most important line in the book because it tells what fishing is all about. “The environment of the stream is peaceful.” These two quotes show how fishing is really all about enjoying being out side and loving the outdoors.
Fish are a huge part in biology. The book related to the salmon eggs that we are hatching right now in class. It talks about how fish spawn and lay eggs that hatch and grow up to be adult fish. It also talked about the ecosystems and habitats that the fish live in.

Most trout live in rivers and streams, and we did a lot of work with rivers and streams this year. The book also told me that there are a lot of organisms that feed on trout, but there are a lot of organisms that tout feed on in an ecosystem, which is also another link to biology.
I really want to learn more about the habitat fish live in, and a lot more about there eating habits. I have always been fascinated with fish and streams and I want to learn more about them both. Another thing that I think would be cool to learn about would be how the fish works inside its body and all the tools it has to survive in the harsh climate it lives in.
This book has changed my life in the way I see fish. I myself am a fisherman and this has changed how I will look at fish for the rest of my life. I now realize how big of a role fish play in the environment. I might be more apt to practice catch and release more often when I go fishing. I also now know which fish populations are struggling so I can be careful not to keep any of those fish that I catch.
I think that this book is historically important to fisherman and biologists. I am sure that this has helped many fishermen identify their catch. For biologists this book is probably helpful in many ways. In one way biologists could use this book to find where a type of fish comes from so they know where they have to go to study. It also lists eating habits and spawning habits that the fish go through, which also might be helpful to biologists.

Through reading this book I have found that trout are a very interesting species of fish, and I would like to learn more about them. This book was overall interesting to me and helped me understand more about trout. I believe that through reading this book my views of how I see trout have completely changed.
